Everybody knows what floor mats are. This isn't going to be some groundbreaking revelation. But if you have kids, live somewhere with real weather, or just don't want to destroy your Rivian's carpet in the first six months ★ keep reading.
Why Not the Stock Mats?
The floor mats that come with the Rivian are actually pretty cool ★ tight weave, almost ballistic-looking material. They look great. But looking great and surviving three kids, Chicago winters, and year-round sports schedules are two very different things.
Salt on the streets from November through April. Mud from baseball fields. Sand from the beach in summer. Kids and their friends piling in after practice with whatever's on their shoes. The stock mats wouldn't stand a chance.
What You Get
Three levels of coverage: driver's seat, passenger seat, middle row, and back row. They fit perfectly ★ no sliding around, no weird gaps. They're clearly made specifically for the R1S, not some universal trim-to-fit situation.
Real-World Testing: Chicago in February
Right now ★ February in Chicago ★ these mats are covered in salt stains. White streaks everywhere. And you know what? That's exactly the point. All of that salt is on the plastic mats, not ground into the carpet underneath.
When it gets nice again, I'll pull them out, spray them down with a hose, and they'll look good as new. That's the whole value proposition, and it delivers exactly as promised.
Any Complaints?
One minor gripe: they're a little obnoxious with the giant yellow Rivian logo stamped on all of them. It's not subtle. But honestly, that's par for the course with Rivian merchandise ★ they love their branding. It doesn't affect function at all, and you stop noticing it after a week.
Final Verdict
5 out of 5 stars. No-brainer.
Could not imagine life without them. $250 is not too unreasonable for full coverage across all three rows, custom-fit for the R1S. If you have kids, live anywhere with weather, or just want to keep your Rivian's interior clean ★ these are essential. Don't overthink it. Just get them.
